Honda left F1 at the end of 2021, after a seven-year stay in the sport that culminated in a drivers’ World Championship victory through Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. – 🤩
This bright orange jacket came out just as Berger joined Senna at Honda McLaren. It is detailed with official branding from McLaren, Honda and their iconic title sponsor at the time, Marlboro, who influenced the white and red livery of the cars during the 1980s and 1990s. The jacket also features the Brazilian and Austrian flags on the back and Gerhard Berger and Ayrton Senna’s names.
Friendships in Formula One are rare but Ayrton Senna and Gerhard Berger made it work in a three-year span as teammates at McLaren Honda between 1990 and 1992. The pair won a total of 19 races (three for Berger and sixteen for Senna) and Ayrton Senna was crowned world champion twice in this time frame, in 1990 and 1991.
