ABOUT THE TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS
The Tennessee Volunteers, often referred to simply as the Vols, are the athletic teams representing the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Volunteers compete in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) of the NCAA Division I, fielding teams in a wide range of sports, including football, basketball, baseball, softball, and track and field among others.
The Tennessee Volunteers have a rich history and tradition in college athletics. The football program, in particular, enjoys a passionate fan base and boasts a storied legacy with numerous conference championships and bowl game appearances. The Volunteers play their home football games at Neyland Stadium, one of the largest stadiums in the country, known for its electrifying atmosphere on game days.
In addition to football, Tennessee’s basketball teams have also achieved notable success, with the men’s team making multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and the women’s team winning numerous national championships under legendary coach Pat Summitt.
